4 MONTHS ( Mon-Sat from 10AM to 4PM )

Camera and Lighting pertains to making lighting and camera choices when recording photographic images for cinema.

We would be covering various scientific aspects of Camera and Lighting like Film Stock, Lab, Filters, Lenses, Depth, Aspect Ratio, Lighting – techniques and camera positioning and most important of all, camera movement.

We shall also be covering Special Effects, Frame-rate selection and other technological aspects to give you an edge in modern television and cinema. A cameraman captures what the director visualizes. A cameraman has to capture the mood of the scene. Special workshops, exercises, and student projects will actually focus and work around these principles only.

 

COURSE CONTENT

Still photography

This will help in developing sense of framing and composition in the static form.

Video Camera

Will make you understand your tools to be used for capturing exciting videos.

Camera angles

Will make you understand the different point of views with different perspectives of the visual frame and how they affect storytelling.

Camera movements

Will make you understand the speed, rhythm and flow of the scene.

Shot composition

This deals with all the compositional rules, which enhance the visual mood of the scene.

Lights and types

Understanding different lights, and their intensity for applied creativity.

Lighting techniques

Different lighting techniques to equip the cameraman for capturing scenes of different moods and locations effectively.

 

SCOPE

Films ,television serials, documentaries have always been the ultimate platform for a cameraman but electronic newsgathering (ENG) has opened a completely new arena for new cameramen.

Music videos also prove to be an exciting career option because of the flourishing music industry.

Ad films are perhaps the most lucrative option but require the immaculate precision. On the whole with the flourishing entertainment industry, jobs are on the rise but so are the expectations. So proper training is a must if one wants to get a good start.

Television Serials - With tremendous growth in television industry, a lot of programming content is required for every channel. No serial can be made without a cameraperson. Competent camera persons are always in demand and they can demand handsome money.

PR departments

Every state government has a public relation department. Big public sector and private companies also have their own PR and publicity departments. Most of them employ camera persons.
