BUNTYS TREE Screened at the Annual Green Music Festival

In celebration of the World Music Day, People for Animals (PFA) hosted a special concert performance by ‘The Local Train’ and ‘The Light Ear’ at Chandigarh’s most happening address – The Elante Mall. Young musicians enthralled the audience with their rocking numbers. The Annual Green Music Festival was the finale of the campaign “Project Sahyog” started by PFA in association with Piya Sharma Charitable Trust, Vatsal Chaya, Samarpan Foundation Chandigarh on World Environment Day.


In the context of preserving the environment, North India’s premier film institute – Mad Arts, Jaspal Bhatti Film School screened its internationally acclaimed animation film on environment – ‘BUNTY’S TREE’. The film has been directed by Award Winning Film maker Jasraj Singh Bhatti and is written by Padma Bhushan Awardee Shri. Jaspal Bhatti.


BUNTY’S TREE focusses on the need to inculcate the habit of planting more and more trees to save the deteriorating environment through a heart wrenching story of a boy and his relationship with a tree. Savita Bhatti, Chairperson of Mad Arts, said it was a privilege to be associated with Project Sahyog and it was a special moment because the film was being screened in Chandigarh for the very first time. Jasraj Singh Bhatti, CEO of Mad Arts also spoke about how the talented students of the school translated the vision of Mr. Jaspal Bhatti’s by working for around 18 months while the film was written merely in half an hour. He thanked the organizers for this wonderful opportunity to screen the film.

Yami Gautam gets the Filmi Keeda

Bollywood stunner at Mad Arts Jaspal Bhatti Film School

The Filmi Keeda caught up with Bollywood’s latest sensation, Yami Gautam. The ‘Fair & Lovely’ stunner of ‘Vicky Donor’ and ‘Total Syapa’ fame unveiled the new mascot of ‘Filmi Keeda’ of Mad Arts, Jaspal Bhatti Film School at Mohali today. The design of the logo has been conceived by Jasraj Bhatti, the CEO of the school.

Addressing the students of Mad Arts, she praised the vision of Mr Jaspal Bhatti in setting up an institution for film making training. She said that like any other professional stream film making can be an exciting and fulfilling vocation if the ‘Filmi Keeda’ is in you. Passion and perseverance pays off. In the current scenario, training is a must as it disciplines the mind and the heart.

Yami also lauded Mad Arts in imparting practical and professional training to the students of this region. The success run of the school has made it survive the times whereas in contrast all other major film schools have closed down. This was primarily because of the sincerity of the vision and guidance of Mr. Jaspal Bhatti. Yami said that Mad Arts is so unique in nature that not only is it a training institute but it is also a production house and also a solid location of the region where all major shootings of Punjabi and Hindi films have taken place.


Welcoming her, the Chairman of the school, Savita Bhatti said that Yami’s visit would boost up the students morale. Her success is a role model that you can survive in the industry without a godfather but with hardwork and dedication. Savita Bhatti said that the school would make celebrity walk-in regular feature of the school curriculum from now on.


Jasraj Bhatti while elaborating on the ‘Filmi Keeda’ said that the bug of creativity can never get out of you. There are so many cases now of successful doctors, engineers, lawyers coming back to pursue their creative urges in acting, direction, script writing and film making. So unlike other ‘Keedas’ this ‘Keeda’ takes you to creativity and fun.


The merchandise manager, Surilie Singh also displayed the school T-shirts carrying the ‘Filmi Keeda’ eating popcorns and with a spoof of film. She said that soon the merchandise of Mad Arts and Filmi Keeda will be available online.
