Mad Arts creates telefilm ‘NISSAR’ for PTC Punjabi.
Latest film by international award winning filmmaker Jasraj Singh Bhatti.
Nissar is a story of a girl who was raped at the tender age of 10. The story tackles the internal struggle of the girl, and her present day scenario, 12 years after the heinous act.
“What excited me about the story was that, it is a story of courage and immense strength, inspite of the what happened with the girl. The girl is very level headed in handling the current situations inspite of the past haunting her regularly.” says Jasraj Singh Bhatti, the director of the film.
The role of Nissar has been played by Surilie Jasraj Singh, an award winning actress. “When Jasraj narrated the film to me, apart from the story and how he had designed the film, what I really liked was how the family of the girl stood by her. The support is very important in such a situation.” says Surilie. “We can never imagine the pain of the victim, but the least we can do is offer support. The film is our gesture of support” says Jasraj.
Along with directing the film, Jasraj has edited, and visually designed the film through storyboards. “I wanted to show various emotions majorly through visuals and not dialogues, so had to pre plan through storyboards.” says Jasraj.
The film has a very distinctive visual style which has designed by Jasraj, supported by his creative team, Himat Singh, Nipun Sharma and other students at Mad Arts, Jaspal Bhatti Film School. It features impactful performances by Surilie Jasraj Singh, Brijesh Ahuja, Abhimnyu Kak, Anita Meet, Anjali Singh, Satwant Kaur and Mehak Kalra. The story has been written by Pali Bhupinder.
The film had it’s world TV Premiere on PTC Punjabi on the 19th NOV 2017. It will be regularly shown on PTC Punjabi, World’s no. 1 Punjabi Channel.
