Flop Show was an Indian television sitcom that first aired on Doordarshan in 1989. The show was written and directed by Jaspal Bhatti, who also played himself as the main character. Savita Bhatti produced the show and also acted in all the episodes as his wife. The sitcom was a satire on the socio-cultural problems faced by the common man in India at the time. Although only 10 episodes of the show were ever produced, the show has had a long and powerful legacy.

 

 

MAHUAL THEEK HAI

This film holds the Guinness World Record for “ First Film to be Premiered in a Prison “

Mahaul Theek Hai (meaning ‘the situation is okay’) is a record setting Punjabi film. It is a comedy satire about the police force in India. The plot is a story where boy (Smeep Kang) meets girl (Chandni Toor). The hero’s brother Raj Babbar, is involved with an illegal businessman. The heroine’s father Kulbhushan Kharbanda is cheated of land by his own brother. Played by director and satirist Jaspal Bhatti, the villain of the film is a corrupt SSP (police superintendent) who misuses his authority to threaten people and hide his own excesses. His love interest is played by Bhatti’s real life wife (Savita Bhatti). Shot mainly in the northern India city of Chandigarh, the story uses a simple plotline to create its comedy. Every situation which should seem serious is filled with the incessant jokes and humour which are Bhatti’s trademark.

 

 

JIJA JI

Jija ji was a record breaking Punjabi DVD Film. This was shot at Mad Arts Studio.

Jijaji is an out and out comedy film on the nuisance values of a relationship. Jaspal Bhatti plays the leading role of an irritating traditional Indian jija whose brother-in-law on the receiving end is the well- known comedian Gurpreet Ghuggi. Ghuggi who plays the role of a senior IAS officer, is totally frustrated at the hands of his jija, who is always interfering in his official matters. Ultimately Ghuggi takes the help of Bhattis jija Jaswinder Bhalla (a leading comedian of Punjab) to control him.

 

 

BUNTY’S TREE (2011)

Bunty’s Tree is an International Award winning Animation Film.

It won the ‘Award of Merit’ in the Animation Category in the Best Shorts Competition in Los Angeles.Bunty’s Tree is Mad Arts, Jaspal Bhatti  Film School’s second animation short  film. It is a silent musical film. Was made  by a team of Six students.

 

 

NANHI CHIDIYA (The Little Bird)

It won ‘THE BEST STORY’ Award at the IDPA awards

( Indian Documentary Producers Association ) in Mumbai.

It was also selected for screening at the Mumbai International Film Festival.

It won best Film Competition organized by One Take Media, Mumbai.

It was screened at the Venice Indian Film Festival.

 

 

 

THANK YOU JIJA JI

Mr. Jaspal Bhatti was assisted by Direction students of the School. The Chief Ad was also a student of the school. More than 10 Acting students got key roles in the serial.

Mad Arts, Japal Bhatti Film School in its maiden TV production “Thank You Jijaji” on SONY – SAB TV lived up to its promise of providing work to our past and present deserving students.

The 17 Episode Sitcom was written and directed by Jaspal Bhatti.

It was comedy on the relationships of a family of a bureaucrat whose brother-in-law is an unemployed, getting-on nerves kind of a person played by Jaspal Bhatti. The Above clip features Jaspal Bhatti along with student actors Vishvapreet and Shailendra. The clip was filmed at Mad Arts.

FULL TENSION is an another show by director Jaspal Bhatti alongwith comedy classic soaps like FLOP SHOW and ULTA PULTA.this show features humour in our day 2 day life n social evils which are prevalent in our society.The show had Jaspal Bhatti usual gang of actors like Vivek Shauq, Savita Bhatti, Ashwini Bhardwaj, B.N Sharma, Kuldeep Sharma and Brijesh Ahuja.
